Hiring Procedures

Before you hire:

  1. Review and follow the hiring process: Hiring Process for Classified and A/P
  2. If this is a new position with no existing job description this form will need to be filled out: https://www.uta.edu/policy/form/3-210
  3. Fill out and turn in job posting request form: http://www.uta.edu/ssw/_documents/resources/Job-Posting-Request-Form.docx

During the hiring process:

  1. Request criminal background check once a candidate is picked: https://www.uta.edu/policy/form/3-9
  2. Get offer letter signed by all parties and send to HR

After the offer letter is signed:

  1. Send out Welcome letter to new hire, includes important first day information
  2. Order name plate:
  3. Get office in order (i.e. order general supplies, service work order for cleaning)
  4. Order office keys:
