Transitional House Bilingual Advocate - Friends of Family

Job Title: Transitional House Bilingual Advocate

Position Description:

Provide case management, advocacy, crisis intervention and information/ referrals to victims of relationship violence and sexual assault in Transitional Housing Program.

Main Position Activities:

  • Assess clients’ needs and connect each client to community resources and agency programs.
  • Assist clients in seeking housing options, applying to housing programs, and screening for agency transitional housing programs.
  • Prepare and maintain an individualized service plan with each client, to include housing, employment, education, and economic (budgeting and financial training) assistance and safety planning.
  • Provide case management (connecting clients with resources and assisting with applications such as TANF, health care, transportation, etc.)
  • Provide legal advocacy (protective order assistance, SVS assistance, court or law enforcement accompaniment, other legal advocacy, child advocacy)


  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
  • Bilingual Spanish
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of relationship violence and sexual assault issues.
