Charting the Path Forward
The University of Texas at Arlington initiated an intensive and comprehensive strategic planning process in October 2013. Working with the theme of Forward Thinking, the University community began a lively and candid conversation about the future of UTA.
The strategic planning process started with the launch of an interactive website where the entire University community was invited to respond to probing questions, share ideas, and comment on emerging priorities. President Vistasp Karbhari and Provost Ron Elsenbaumer convened dozens of planning sessions, presentations, meetings, and brainstorming sessions with deans, vice presidents, faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, and the community. Together, they charted the path forward for UTA.
In 2020, the strategic plan was refreshed through campuswide participation led by our deans and vice presidents to reflect the evolving strategies and new initiatives at UTA. This new strategic plan 2025 will be our guiding principle going forward, as articulated and documented here.
The strategic plan, Bold Solutions | Global Impact, is now complete, and an aggressive transition has begun from the planning phase to the implementation phase.
