Fitness Instructor Training through AFAA
Are you ready to inspire others through fitness? Campus Recreation will teach you how to start your journey and it will help you evolve into becoming a one of a kind group fitness instructor. There is no Experience required!
This is an 12 week course taught at UTA Campus Recreation and will cover topics like: Practical Experience in various formats (Step, Kickboxing, Strength, Cycle, Core, and Water. 32 count, Cueing/inclusive language and hands on training. The Certification Prep Course will help you gain the knowledge and skills you need to become a Group Fitness Instructor!
Students that register and complete the program stand a higher chance to pass their exam and become an Athletics Fitness Association of America (AFAA) certified fitness instructor.
Registration cost $405 (This includes student university discount)
The course includes: AFAA certification Exam and 1 Retake, Digital Textbook & Hardcopy, Outline lectures and videos, certification exam preparation, anatomy & physiology, Kinesiology of human movement, special populations, how to design and choreograph a fitness class, training modalities, foundations of nutrition and weight management, business & communications, Performance review evaluation from experience professionals and much more.
Deadline is Feb. 2, 2022. Classes will meet from Feb. 7 through April 22. Meeting days and times will be determined by everyones' availability.
Open to UTA students and community.
