Students who are interested in updating their gender marker with the university need to fill out the following form with the University Registrar’s office. We advise students to contact the LGBTQ+ Program directly for assistance with legal gender marker changes.

ASSISTANCE WITH ACADEMIC CONCERNS

LGBTQ+ Program staff acknowledge how academics can decline with students experience the following: not being able to live as their authentic selves, struggling with gender and/or sexual identity, victim of sexual assault and/or relationship violence, a harmful teaching environment, and much more. Students do not need to suffer in silence. Connect with us if you are struggling so we can ensure your academic success at UTA.

Name and Mav ID Updates

If you are a student whose chosen name does not reflect your birth name, please contact the LGBTQ+ Program so we can have Canvas updated to reflect your chosen name. Additionally, we will be able to coordinate a new Mav ID for you, free of charge, so your ID reflects your chosen name. Neither advocacy service requires a legal name change.
