PRIDE in October at UTA

October is LGBTQ+ History Month and Pride at UTA! We are intentional about celebrating diversity of sexual and gender identities by hosting a variety of in-person and virtual programs that range from guest speakers, lunch and learns, Pride giveaways, and much more!

The Connexions LGBTQ+ Support Group

The Connexions LGBTQ+ support group is led by Pride Peers to create a brave and courageous space for student support. Groups are both in-person and virtual. This is a group designed to create community and bring together all students of sexual and gender identities.

Annual Drag Show

When the Queens show up, so does UTA! This sold out show has grown so much that students, faculty & staff arrive early to secure their seats. This 700+ person attended event is three hours of fun & full of talent. The drag show is held during Pride in October.

Queersgiving

Is a time when students come together right before Thanksgiving break to eat a holiday dinner together, engage with their peers in vibrant discussions, play games and/or complete crafts for self-care. This is one of our most popular events because of the good food and awesome vibes!

Lavender Graduation

Lavender Graduation is an annual graduation ceremony conducted at universities to honor LGBTQ+ students and acknowledge their accomplishments and contributions. It was created by Ronni Sanlo, a lesbian keynote speaker in LGBTQ+ community. Students receive special LGBTQ+ graduation stoles from the program. If you are a graduating senior, please email us to ensure you are a part of this celebration.
