Veteran Orientation Dates
If you are a transfer student and military-connected (such as active duty, veteran, reserve, or National Guard), you can choose to attend one of UTA’s Veteran Orientations or a traditional transfer orientation session. Military connected students entering UTA directly from high school must attend one of our Freshman Orientations.
This Orientation is designed to provide a clear understanding of your Veteran’s benefits, how to certify, and information on the services and resources that are available to you here at UTA. As a thank you for your service, Veterans choosing to attend the Veterans Orientation program will not be charged the Orientation Fee.
Veteran Orientation sessions are offered in person on the following dates.
- May 23
- June 24
- August 5
As a reminder, while it’s encouraged to attend one of our Veteran orientation sessions, you may also choose a traditional transfer orientation session.
*Spring 2023 orientation registration for will open in mid-October.
ONLINE ONLY ORIENTATION EXCEPTIONS
An online only orientation may be used in rare circumstances to satisfy the orientation requirement. Our online program consists of the pre-orientation modules and will introduce you to the UT Arlington campus and help you learn about valuable campus resources and involvement opportunities.
The online only orientation exception is designed for transfer students whose travel to campus is difficult or impossible (such as active duty military members, out-of-state students, etc.). UTA believes that if you are attending classes on our campus, the most beneficial orientation for you will be one of our on-campus programs. Therefore, online orientation exemption requests for busy lifestyles or work are not approved.
Transfer students who are interested in an online only orientation exemption should email a detailed, written request to:firstname.lastname@example.org
