Policies and Procedures

These policies and procedures are the basic requirements at the UTA Testing Center. Please refer to the test page for specific requirements for that exam.


Registration

  • General availability can be seen here. Be sure to check the page for your exam for additional registration steps and restrictions.

    Registration for UTA students: UTA student scheduling site. You must know your 10-digit UTA ID number to register.

    Registration for Non-UTA students: nonstudents.utatesting.timetrade.com.

    Testers, in the event of a name change additional proof of identification accompanying a valid government ID will be required i.e. marriage license, divorce decree, birth certificate etc. 

FEES

  • Fees vary by test and must be paid when you schedule the appointment. If not paid within 24 hours, the appointment will be canceled. If you cannot pay on-line, contact Testing Services at 817-272-2362.

    Appointments not modified 24 hours in advance of the appointment will forfiet appointment fees.

MODIFY AN APPOINTMENT

  • You must change/modify your appointment at least 24 hours in advance or you forfeit your test appointment fees.

    Sign into TimeTrade with the username & password that you previously created.

    Click on "View Test Appointment"

    Click on "Modify test appointment"

    In the pull-down, labeled "Location", change it to "Any Location"

    Click on "Next", located on the far bottom right of the screen.

    Select a new date & time

    Click "Next" and verify the new test date information

    Click "Make Test Appointment" (located on the far bottom right of the screen)

    As long as you modify your appointment your payment will be current. If you CANCEL your appointment you will need to repay the fee.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURES

  • You should report to the ‘testing location’ (PRINTED ON YOUR ADMISSION TICKET) at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the appointment.

    You must provide a valid ID to be admitted to the exam (some tests require two forms of ID, please refer to the test page for further instructions on required forms of identification).

    Valid ID with photo identification must be physically present and current. You will not be admitted to the test without proper identification.

    ***Check to ensure that you are following all of our parking guidelines.***

PROHIBITED ITEMS

  • Due to requirements set by the Testing Companies, all students must leave all personal belongings in their car or put them in lockers that are provided (free of charge) in the testing center. Examples …

    • Electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers, PDAs, iPods, cameras, flash drives, watches, FitBits, etc.
    • Backpacks, bags or purses
    • Books, notes, formula sheets, papers or any other items not previously approved by the instructor
    • Hats
    • Food or drink

    Any student found with a cell phone or other electronic device in the test room will be dismissed, test canceled, fees forfeited and the student will be reported to the Office of Student Conduct.

SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS

  • IF YOU REQUIRE ACCOMMODATIONS IN TAKING AN EXAMINATION, THEY MUST BE APPROVED IN ADVANCE.

    NON UTA STUDENTS: CONTACT THE TEST COMPANY DIRECTLY, PRIOR TO THE DESIRED TEST DATE, TO ARRANGE ACCOMMODATIONS. IF YOU HAVE DOCUMENTATION ON FILE AT YOUR SCHOOL, PLEASE CONTACT THEM TO REQUEST THAT YOUR CURRENT ACCOMMODATIONS BE PROVIDED TO OUR OFFICE AT testing@uta.edu.

Our Mission:

The mission of the University of Texas at Arlington Testing Services is to provide departmental, institutional, and national testing opportunities to students and non-students in an atmosphere which enables examinees to perform to the best of their abilities. We are certified members of the National College Testing Association (NCTA), and subscribe to the NCTA’s Professional Standards and Guidelines for Post-Secondary Test Centers.  We are fully committed to the preservation of academic integrity in the administration of all tests and to the support of academic success for all examinees.
