Welcome
The Educational Talent Search Programs at UT Arlington provide free college, career and financial aid information to over 1,000 junior high and high school students each year. Talent Search identifies and selects students who demonstrate the potential for post-secondary enrollment and provides them with the motivation and support to enroll in a program of post-secondary education (college, university, technical or vocational school) after high school graduation.
This program identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to the postsecondary institution of their choice. Talent Search also serves high school dropouts by encouraging them to reenter the education system and complete their education. The goal of Talent Search is to increase the number of youths from disadvantaged backgrounds who complete high school and enroll in postsecondary education institutions of their choice. We provide tutoring services, career exploration, aptitude assessments, counseling, mentoring programs, workshops, and information on postsecondary institutions.

UTA Blaze Forward 100% Tuition Assistance
Blaze Forward, Promise Plus UTA's Blaze Forward program will cover 100% of tuition and mandatory fees for eligible undergraduate students. Funding comes from a variety of sources, including the University of Texas System's $300 million Promise Plus endowment. To learn more about Blaze Forward Click Here.
On a Mission to Eliminate Barriers to Higher Education
UTA will assist nearly 2,000 students on their paths to higher education. UTA’s TRIO program received grants worth nearly $4 million from the U.S. Department of Education to help low-income students, first-generation students and unemployed or low-wage workers access higher education. Two of the grants are federal Talent Search grants worth approximately $1.4 million a piece to identify and assist low-income and first-generation students who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The TRIO Talent Search program will provide five more years of funding to help 1,001 local students find their paths to college.

Who can Join?
| Be a U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident; |
| Be at least 11 years of age and in grades 7-12; |
| Qualify as Low Income and/or Potential First Generation College Graduate (neither parent has received a 4-year degree); |
| Commit to remain in the Talent Search Program until High School graduation; |

Demonstrate Potential for Post-secondary Enrollment as defined by: 1. Expressing a desire to go to college; 2. Maintaining a GPA of 2.75 or higher; 3. Exhibiting good citizenship and leadership skills. |
