Definition of Terms

Color palette
A set of approved colors to be used throughout communications, including both primary institutional and secondary color sets

Identity system
A set of guidelines to ensure the identity elements (logomark, wordmark and signature) are used consistently

Logomark
The “A” with a star symbol used in the University’s signature

Nameplate
Custom typeset and styled typography of the University name displayed in conjunction with the logomark

Signature
An unbreakable composition of the logomark with the nameplate to identify the University or units within

Sub-units
The official naming of any UTA department under a school or division

Typography
The style and appearance of type

Units
The official naming of any UTA school, center or institutional division

Visual identity
The graphic elements (such as a logomark, wordmark, signature, colors and fonts) that represent UTA

Wordmark
A graphic representation of the words making up the name of the University
