The Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas System has announced that Donald R. Bobbitt, UT Arlington’s provost and vice president for academic affairs, has been named as the next president of the University of Arkansas System. Provost Bobbitt accepted the position last Thursday.

“This is a great honor and a tremendous opportunity for Don,” says President James D. Spaniolo. “It also speaks to the quality of UT Arlington that our provost has been chosen for such a prestigious position. We are working on next steps to ensure a smooth transition in leadership.”

Details about timing and transition will be available in the near future.
