UT Arlington will close at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 5, and remain closed through Friday

The University of Texas at Arlington will close at 7 p.m. Thursday evening, December 5, and will remain closed through Friday, December 6, due to icy road conditions and forecasts for freezing precipitation. The UT Arlington Research Institute in Fort Worth, the UT Arlington Fort Worth Center, and all other UT Arlington locations will be closed.

The closing affects all offices, libraries, events, and classes. The Connection Café in the E.H. Hereford University Center will remain open to serve campus residents.

Some decisions have already been announced regarding rescheduling of exams currently scheduled for Saturday, December 7. Check with your department to find out the new dates and times when your exams will be held.

Please continue to monitor University email and the UT Arlington home page,, for the latest information. Notices also will be distributed to area media outlets and through the official UT Arlington Facebook and Twitter feeds.

Additionally, the University's Emergency Information Hotline at 1-866-258-4913 always has the current status of all operations.
