'Romancing the Stars a sweet date at Planetarium

ARLINGTON - The Planetarium at UT Arlington has a program Feb. 13 and 14 for couples with stars in their eyes.

"Romancing the Stars" looks at how the human qualities of love and beauty are reflected in the constellations and the universe. Viewers will learn about Venus, the goddess of love; Diana, the goddess of the moon and her love for Orion; Pryamus and Thisbee, a Greek love story that pre-dates Romeo and Juliet; and the story of Bernice's hair, a constellation visible in the Northern Hemisphere in spring and summer named for an Egyptian queen.

A pre-Valentine show is at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13. Cost is $15 per couple and includes a rose and a box of chocolates.

The Valentine's Day show is at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14. Cost is $30 per couple and includes a rose, a box of chocolates, wine and appetizers.

Telescopes will be set up after each show for viewing the sky, if weather permits Reservations are required. Prices increase for reservations after Tuesday, Feb. 10.
