Eileen Clements, PhD, is the Director of Research at the University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute (UTARI). She joined the Research Institute in 2007 as a Faculty Associate Researcher developing new technologies for biomedical applications. In 2012 she was appointed as the Director of Research overseeing research activities for the Institute in the areas of biomedical technologies, robotics, unmanned systems, and manufacturing automation. Eileen received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 2001. From 2001 to 2006 she attended the Georgia Institute of Technology where she received an M.S. in Electrical Engineering in 2003 and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 2006. Her current research interests are in BioMEMS, specifically in developing new systems, devices, and fabrication methods for medical applications. As the Director of Research, Eileen leads the full-time research staff at UTARI in partnering with industry and other academic institutions to drive the development of technologies to the point of commercialization bringing innovation products to the global marketplace to benefit society.
