Community Navigators strengthen outreach to underserved businesses by partnering with organizations with deep roots in their communities and serve as the 'boots on the ground’ to connect small businesses to critical resources and assistance.
UTA Community Navigator (UTAComNav) is 1 of 15 spokes working with Syracuse University's D'Aniello Instite for Veterans and Military Families Hub, awarded the Community Navigator Pilot Program (CNPP) grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
Our military-connected network of 15 spokes offers access to FREE services such as 1:1 business advising, legal services, accounting services, business insurance, contracting and procurement, business training, tax services, grant and loan services and much more.
UTAComNav's mission is to connect Texas veteran-owned and military-connected small businesses to critical resources and assistance in efforts to reduce barriers that underrepresented and underserved entrepreneurs often face in accessing the programs they need to recover, grow, or start their businesses.
- Access to technical assistance- specifically, loan preparation
- Connect clients with existing SBA resource partners, loan officers and disaster recovery subject matter experts
- Provide financial literacy tools and resources to bridge the gap between veterans and access to capital.
October 5th, 2022- UTA Community Navigator (UTAComNav) sponsored 20 military-connected small business owners to attend the exclusive Profit Mastery pre-conference workshop at the 4th annual Business Beyond the Battlefield Conference in Arlington, TX. Over two days, attendees discovered how to actively manage their businesses and accomplish their goals by better understanding their financials. Alongside other business owners, attendees analyzed real-world business problems and uncovered how to manage their business to increase profitability and strengthen their relationship with lenders!
