Conference Travel Stipend

The EDGE Center offers a competitive conference travel stipend to UT Arlington graduate students in their Master’s programs to help defray the costs associated with attending & participating in domestic (within the US) professional conferences.

**Applications are accepted year-round but must be submitted no less than 30 business days prior to travel.

To qualify for the funding opportunity, the student applicant must be:

  • a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • actively enrolled in a UTA Master’s-level program.
  • in good academic standing.
  • Complete the Online Application (link provided below)
  • Submit supporting documentation:
    • A conference schedule notated with the sessions/events the applicant plans to attend. If session information is unavailable, applicants can submit a Schedule-at-a-Glance for their desired conference.
    • A written statement (2 page maximum, double spaced) detailing how attending the conference would positively influence the applicant’s:
      • academic and professional development
      • journey towards degree completion
      • contributions to the UTA community.
  • A proposed budget (template provided below) to include estimated costs for conference registration, transportation (ground or air), and lodging. Please note - lodging will be paid for upfront by the awardee and reimbursed post-travel by the EDGE Center up to the maximum award of $1,000.
  • Applicants can be awarded up to $1,000.
  • Eligible expenses include conference registration, transportation to/from conference site, and lodging (if funds allow).
  • Parking, meals, incidentals, and other miscellaneous costs at not eligible expenses.
  • Applicants, be advised – the total stipend awarded may be less than the maximum amount stated above. The total awarded will depend on the proposed budget, quality of the application, and the availability of funds.
