Presenter at a Brown Bag Seminar

Brown Bag Seminar Series

Current UTA graduate students in MAE and beyond present their research to a broad audience. The Brown Bag Seminars take place on Wednesdays at 12pm in Woolf Hall 404 during the semester! Attendees will be asked to fill out a quick evaluation survey for each presenter. Please contact Dr. Catherine Kilmain if you are interested in presenting or have any questions about the seminars

Seminar Schedule
  • March 25 - Stephen Atkins: Aerodynamic Methodology Development for Conceptual Design (Dr. Bernd Chudoba)
  • April 8 - Mikaela Leevy:Initial Characterization of a 3D-Printed Aeroelastic Wind Tunnel Model (Dr. Robert Taylor)
  • April 15 - Himanshu Khatri: Boundary Layer Transition in Hypersonic Flows (Dr. Liwei Zhang)
  • April 22 - Aditya Balasubramaniam: Rotating Detonation Combustor (Dr. Liwei Zhang)

Graduate Seminar Series

Renowned speakers from academia and industry speak on current topics of interest in mechanical and aerospace engineering every Friday during the semester both in person and via Microsoft Teams at 2:00pm.  Please contact Dr. Ankur Jain (jaina@uta.edu) if you are interested!

Seminars will return in Fall 2026

Senior Design Presentations

The Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department Senior Design teams make their project presentations including innovative work in areas as diverse as automated aquaponics, battle robots, and composite pressure cylinders.  If you have a proposal for a project or any other questions, please reach out to Mechanical Engineering professors Dr. Raul Fernandez (fernandez@uta.edu), Dr. Robert Woods (woods@uta.edu) or Aerospace Professor Bernd Chudoba (chudoba@uta.edu).
