Transforming student lives through the gift of education...

Comprised of some of UTA’s most supportive and influential alumni, staff, faculty, and community members, the College of Science Dean’s Leadership Circle (DLC) plays an instrumental role in supporting and attracting students to UT Arlington’s College of Science by providing much-needed support. Morteza G. Khaledi, Ph.D., dean of the College of Science, views the establishment of the DLC as a crucial way to support College of Science students.

Providing Financial Relief

"I remember running down the stairs and being like, 'Mom, Mom, look! Everything is paid for!' That was a big relief for us and I was happy about that."

A voice for children in need...

I want to be able to provide a safe haven for those who don’t have a voice, whether it be medical attention or just a place to escape. I work at a doctor’s office, however it does not pay enough to pay for my classes and everyday bills. I want to do so much not only for myself and future career but for the many children I would be able to help, and it is very disheartening to know that the one thing that will set me back is money. Receiving this scholarship really does mean the world to me.

Impacting students, impacting families...

You have changed my life. With so many financial struggles, I was scared I could not continue my education. Your generosity has given me the opportunity to advance in my academic journey and taken such an enormous load of stress off my shoulders. I won’t have to spend any more nights worrying if I’ll have to drop my classes. No need to struggle moving money around with my parents and see what we can sacrifice these next few months so that I’m able to pay tuition. A huge weight has been lifted off of the back of everyone in my family.

Finding a way...

Thank you so much for this opportunity that you all have given me. As a first-year student it’s a whole new ball game that I for sure wasn't ready for and didn’t expect to be stressing about money situations. I’ve been constantly applying for jobs but haven't been able to make it fit in my busy schedule. I wasn’t able to supply myself with all the necessary school supplies the first semester, but despite the hardship have tried to fight through. I'm grateful for all the resources UTA has offered and now this amazing scholarship you - thank you, thank you, thank you.
