Course Description
 
 

Participants will walk away with strategies, lessons, and activities that they can use with their students. A binder will be given to each participant containing all of the information needed to start up a new AP Macroeconomics course. Textbook samples will be distributed and many activities will be performed during the week to ensure participants fully understand how to use them in their classroom.

Topics will include the following:

  • Basic Economic Concepts
  • Measurement of Economic Performance
  • Financial Sector
  • Inflation, Unemployment, and Stabilization Policies
  • Economic Growth and Productivity
  • International Trade and Finance

Biographical Sketch for David Mayer
 
 

David Mayer teaches AP Macroeconomics and AP US Government and Politics at Winston Churchill High School in San Antonio, Texas. As a consultant for the College Board, David has presented throughout Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. He is an active reader for the AP Economics exam. In addition, David holds certification in both Economics and Social Studies Composite. David earned his BS in Economics from Texas A&M University and his MA in Educational Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
