Campaign for Dean Bavier

Anne Bavier, dean of the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, has established herself as an outstanding healthcare leader and is now being considered one of the most influential people in the field by Modern Healthcare. Help us make sure she achieves this national recognition by voting before June 24. Click here and find her name on the alphabetized-by-last-name survey. Once you select her name, you will be prompted at the bottom of the survey to push the ‘Next’ button until you reach the ‘Submit’ button. WNBA Contest

College Park Center is the new home of the Dallas Wings of the WNBA, and we want to make sure they have a true home court advantage! By updating your contact information or registering for the first time with Alumni Relations, you will be entered to win a pair of tickets to one of the next games at the CPC. Registering with Alumni Relations allows you access to all things Maverick. From the alumni newsletter to discounted tickets to athletics events, we keep you in touch with your alma mater and make you aware of all the great things happening at your University.

Mav Nation Making a Difference

Many of you, our incredible alumni, have made a tremendous impact on our community and surrounding region. Arlington has become one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, spurred by the University’s ability to recruit and retain talented students, faculty, and staff. Recently, President Karbhari presented UTA flags to the Mansfield Independent School District to honor the 37 UTA graduates who serve the MISD as principals, assistant principals, or administrators and the dozens more who work as teachers. Be proud of Mav Nation! We are making a difference daily!

Alumni Spotlight: Sylvia Loh

As part of our ongoing look at recent alumni, this spotlight video features Sylvia Loh, a graduate with a B.S. in biology and M.S. in bioengineering. UTA allowed her the opportunity to discover her passion for innovation and engineering even while pursuing a degree in biology. Her story represents one of many ways talented students take advantage of the exceptional education UTA offers and makes our community a better place to live. Congratulations, Sylvia, and welcome to the UTA alumni family.

Summer Movie Series

Open to the public, the Summer Movie Series will begin this Thursday with a screening of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot at 9 p.m. on the West Lawn behind the Maverick Activities Center. A complete schedule of movies and times is available on the Excel website. 

Arlington 4th of July Parade

UTA is a sponsor for this year's Arlington 4th of July Parade and will have two floats in the annual event. The parade begins at 9 a.m. at the intersection of S. West St. and W. Mitchell St. Dr. and Mrs. Karbhari, Mr. and Ms. UTA, the Spirit Teams, and the band will be part of UTA's parade contingency.

FSAE Alumni and Sponsors Weekend

Previous members of UTA’s Formula SAE Racing Team will return to campus for the annual Alumni and Sponsors Weekend. Free and open-to-the-public races will take place on Saturday in Parking Lot 49 at the intersection of Cooper and Mitchell streets. Races will be held throughout the day.

UTA Night at the Rangers

As part of the Texas Rangers University Days, UTA students, alumni, and faculty and staff are invited to take in a baseball game at Globe Life Park. More details about game time and other UTA-specific information will be determined later this summer.
