A global leader in physics
Researchers at UTA finished building prototypes for an aluminum electric field cage inside a particle detector, successfully completing a major milestone for an international physics experiment conducted at the European Organization for Nuclear Research in Geneva, Switzerland. Last year, UTA had research expenditures of $3.5 million carrying out leading roles in the world’s most prestigious new particle physics experiments. READ MORE

Two UTA faculty members are among the 2018 class of outstanding educators honored by the UT System Board of Regents. Frank Foss and Regina Urban will both receive $25,000 in recognition of their commitment to student success. The Regents' Outstanding Teaching Awards are some of the largest in the nation for rewarding faculty for teaching excellence. READ MORE

Lights, Camera, Action!
UTA art students won two national Telly Awards in the Student and Cinematography categories. The students created three professional-grade commercials for their 2017-18 commercial film class which won a bevy of competitions. The Telly Awards were founded in 1979 to honor excellence in local, regional and cable television commercials and now includes television and non-broadcast video of all types, including the Internet. While Kevin Hervey is anticipating a second-round selection in tonight's NBA draft at home with his family, Maverick faithful will gather at Grease Monkey in Arlington for a draft watch party to support Hervey. UTA Athletics is hosting the event starting at 6 PM with the first selection in the draft slated for 6:30 PM.

4th of July Parade | Join UTA and the City of Arlington for one of the largest and oldest 4th of July parades in Texas. The family-friendly festivities begin at 9 AM when the Arlington Community Band and Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts lead the singing of the National Anthem. Parking is available at UTA. MORE INFO
