military Hall of Honor
UTA Alumni Relations

Michael R. Greer ('63) and Major General Dan Hughes ('83) were inducted into the Military Science Hall of Honor. The event, hosted by UTA's Cadet Corps Alumni Council and the Corps of Cadets, recognizes those who have excelled in their military service, community involvement, and dedication to UTA. At UTA’s first International Symposium on Traumatic Brain Injury Mechanisms and Protections this month, leading researchers and experts from around the world came to Arlington to identify knowledge gaps in TBI research and exchange ideas to accelerate research progress. READ MORE

Sabrina Harrison ('05), owner and interior designer of MINT Dentistry, was named a woman entrepreneur of the year by WINGS, an organization aimed at empowering women and fighting poverty. Harrison will be honored at a luncheon in Dallas on May 16.

Wheelchair treadmill
UTA Alumni Relations

A UTA senior design project team built a treadmill that can be used by athletes in wheelchairs. Brandon Griffin, team leader on the project and a mechanical engineering student, said the idea of a wheelchair treadmill had circulated among various senior design project teams for a number of years. Metro Golf
UTA Alumni Relations

Campus Recreation invites you to register for the 46th Annual Metro Golf Tournament! The event will take place at The Golf Club at Fossil Creek on Monday, May 13. Registration deadline for this event is Monday, April 29. The alumni cost is $85 per individual and the team of four cost is $400. All proceeds benefit student scholarships. REGISTER

Shorthorn Centennial Celebration | To mark The Shorthorn's 100th year as the voice of UTA, Student Publications will host numerous events and exhibits in 2019 including a special alumni reunion. For a schedule of events and reunion information, visit Shorthorn100.uta.edu.

April 30 | Tuesday

Mother-Son Date Night | Let your son dream under the big lights of Clay Gould Ballpark as UTA baseball takes on Dallas Baptist University at 6:30 PM. Packages are $15 and include two games tickets and a $10 concession voucher. TICKETS

May 3-5 | Friday-Sunday

VIA DANCE | Maverick Dance Company presents VIA DANCE, a collection of progressive dance works directed by Amanda Jackson and Meredith Knight. With two shows at 8 PM and one at 2:30 PM, MDC offers thought-provoking and entertaining performances by faculty, guests, and student choreographers. TICKETS

May 9-11 | Thursday-Saturday

Commencement | Commencement ceremonies culminate years of hard work for all graduating students and offer us a chance to welcome new members of the alumni family. If you have a loved one graduating and need visitor information, check out the official UTA commencement website.
