Our Students

U.S. News & World Report ranks UTA fifth nationally for providing a racially and ethnically diverse campus. This diversity is reflected in the College of Engineering. It is this mixture of ethnicities, genders, nationalities, and socioeconomic backgrounds that helps makes UTA great. Being exposed to a multitude of different perspectives prepares our students for life in the modern global workforce, and is one of the University’s strengths.

Our Facilities

The College of Engineering has more than 417,359 square feet of space in seven buildings on and off campus. The Engineering Research Building, completed in 2011, is a 234,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art building that allows for interdisciplinary interaction and collaboration between the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the Department of Bioengineering and the College of Science. The Science and Engineering Innovation and Research Building, scheduled to open in 2018, will allow increased research and collaboration among faculty with interests in the health sciences. The Shimadzu Institute Nanotechnology Research Center is the most advanced clean room in the region and provides multiple opportunities for exploration at the nano-scale.

Our City

UTA sits in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, a thriving area that is home to hundreds of Fortune 500, engineering, and technology companies.

The University’s prime location gives our students access to important internships and co-op positions, and provides a great advantage for graduates entering the workforce.

Arlington is at the crossroads of seven major highways and two major airports. Students can find a variety of extracurricular activities in the city and surrounding areas, from sports and shopping to operas and amusement parks.

Bring your most ambitious goals.

With expert faculty and dedicated resources backing more than 7,000 students and 34 degree programs, we can help you achieve the future you want. The College of Engineering boasts the most comprehensive engineering program in North Texas and is Texas' third largest.

Meet students with different goals, but just as much ambition.

Because we continue to invest in the latest technology and expanding facilities, we entice future engineers to join a campus with unstoppable momentum. And because UTA is a place with incredible research muscle, we draw students who are intense researchers that get the opportunity to work in our many state-of-the-art laboratories and collaborate across disciplines to innovate and make groundbreaking discoveries.
