Out-of-State Tuition Adjustment

Scholarship recipients who are nonresidents of Texas or citizens of a country other than the United States of America may be eligible to pay the in-state tuition rate if the scholarship awarded meets all the following conditions:

  • The award must be at least $1,000 for the period of time within the academic year covered by the scholarship, not to exceed 12 months.
  • The award must be granted by an official UT Arlington Scholarship Committee or Committees.
  • The award criteria must be published and available to the public in advance of any application deadline.
  • Both the award funds and the selection process must be under the control of the institution.
  • The award must be open to both residents and nonresidents to apply and/or to be considered.

If all the above qualifications are met, students may, at the discretion of the awarding department, college/school, and the Office of the Provost, pay resident tuition rates for the registration period for which the scholarship is awarded.  The number of these exceptions to pay in-state tuition are limited and are awarded on a competitive basis.
