Scholarships

Undergraduate Eligibility

For scholarship purposes, an entering freshman is a high school graduate with no college enrollment after graduation (with the exception of summer only enrollment).  College courses completed before the official high school school graduation date, i.e. dual enrollment, do not disqualify students from consideration for an Entering Freshman Scholarship.

For scholarship purposes, and with the exception of summer only enrollment, a student with college enrollment after high school graduation will be reviewed for scholarship eligibility in the Entering Transfer Scholarship category.

The general scholarship program (Entering Freshman and Entering Transfer Scholarships) is for new students with no previous UT Arlington enrollment (with the exception of summer only enrollment).

All scholarships administered through the UT Arlington Scholarship Office are reserved for students pursuing their first baccalaureate degrees.

Full-time enrollment (minimum of 12 UTA hours) each fall and spring semester and completion of a specified annual minimum number of UTA hours are required for the duration of the eligible scholarship period.  Enrollment in only 12 UTA hours each fall and spring may not meet the specified annual minimum.  Concurrent enrollment at another institution does not apply to either minimum.

Accelerated Online students and students opting to participate in the Coordinated Admission Program (CAP) are not eligible for UT Arlington’s general academic scholarships administered through the Scholarship Office.

In cases of multiple eligibility, students will be awarded the scholarship with the highest value.

All scholarship awards are subject to available funding; award values may vary due to level of funding or number of eligible applicants.

No spring scholarship funding is available for new students entering UT Arlington for the first time in the spring semester.
