Spring/Summer 2016 Health Insurance

Please remember Spring/ Summer 2016 insurance charge of $1,352.00 will add to your account soon. Spring/ Summer insurance coverage dates are from January 1st until August 14th. The option to waive Spring/ Summer 2016 is open now until February 3rd at https://uta.myahpcare.com/waiver. The Spring and Summer semester must be waived together with coverage dates from January 1st and August 14th. There is no fee to waive your university insurance. However, if your outside insurance doesn’t provide medical evacuation and repatriation there will be a $60 charge placed on your account for medical evacuation and repatriation coverage. This type of coverage is a mandate from the UT System. Important Beginning of Semester Reminder

Reminder to F-1 and J-1 Students:

Immigration regulations require F-1 and J-1 students to be enrolled full time during Fall and Spring at UTA. Full time at UTA is 9 hours for Graduate Students and 12 hours for Undergraduate Students. The immigration regulations allow waivers of the full time enrollment requirement under certain limited circumstances. Such waivers may only be granted by the advisors in the Office of International Education before the end of the enrollment period (Census Day), or before the student drops a course. Census date for the Spring 2016 Semester is Wednesday, February 3.

Nepal Special Student Relief

In response to the April 25, 2015 earthquake, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has made some special allowances for F-1 students from Nepal. Essentially the changes are to work eligibility and requirements and to enrollment requirements. The following options may be available to our Nepalese students who were affected by the earthquake. We encourage you to come speak to an advisor if you have any questions regarding this special relief. It’s important to remember that OIE approval is required in each instance before you take advantage of any of these opportunities.

SEVIS Address Guidelines for F-1 and J-1 Students

Your PHYSICAL PRESENCE ADDRESS must be your address in the USA and your address information must conform to SEVIS guidelines for the duration of your program regardless of whether you are in the United States or temporarily outside the U.S. If you move, you must update your address within 10 days.
