Office of the President - The University of Texas at Arlington

Dear Members of the UTA Community,

The University has been informed that the Arlington Police Department arrested the suspect in the assault of a UTA student yesterday. I want to thank the members of the Arlington Police Department and Chief Will Johnson for their tremendous work and for their continued efforts to ensure the safety of our community.

The University of Texas at Arlington Police Department and the Arlington Police Department work together to ensure the safety of our community and will continue their efforts to ensure that our campus remains safe and secure. We can do our part by remembering to be aware of our surroundings at all times and informing the police if we see something suspicious or out of place.

For traveling around campus after daytime hours, consider using the Mavs Courtesy Escort. This free service offers students, faculty, staff and campus visitors an escort from one location to another. The hours of service are from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. seven days a week during the semester.

I would like to assure the University community that UTA is committed to providing a safe, secure and friendly campus.

Sincerely,

Vistasp Karbhari
President
