Maverick Speakers Series embarks on 10th season

UTA celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Maverick Speakers Series with five accomplished and inspiring guests, including two alumni, for the 2017-18 season. Tickets are available at LEARN MORE.

Celebrate Independence Day with annual parade

Look for UTA's two floats in the annual Arlington Fourth of July Parade, which begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, and winds through downtown Arlington and the College Park District. LEARN MORE.

Campus open Monday, closed Tuesday for Independence Day

UTA will be open for classes and business as usual on Monday, July 3. Check out the University Club's holiday buffet menu at the end of MavWire.

The campus is closed Tuesday, July 4, for the Independence Day holiday.

Nominations accepted for SAC representatives

The Staff Advisory Council needs nominations for district representatives for the next two years.

Nominate yourself or other staff members through Friday, June 30. Log in at Click "nominate" and select a name from the list for your district.

The election is Monday, July 3-Friday, July 21. SAC meetings are at 3 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month.

Volunteers needed for Spanish-speaking orientation program

Orientación Familiar is a new Maverick Orientation session for Spanish-speaking parents and family members. Spanish-speaking students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to volunteer to network with parents, assist with the check-in process and program logistics, answer guests' questions, and give directions around campus. Register to volunteer for a shift or all day.

The UTA Center for Service Learning's Faculty Fellows program educates faculty on ways of incorporating service learning into courses while fostering relationships and research opportunities across disciplines and with community agencies. Apply at by Friday, June 30. Contact Susan at for details.
