Mavericks celebrate Independence Day

UTA celebrated Independence Day in Arlington's annual Fourth of July Parade with two blue and orange floats featuring President Vistasp Karbhari and Lisa Karbhari plus fellow Mavericks through downtown Arlington and the College Park District. See more photos.

Policies updated on personal transportation, animals in research

UTA supports the use of environmentally friendly means of personal transportation, such as bicycles and skateboards. Policy 5-312 provides University rules for safe use and storage on campus. Violators may be subject to disciplinary or other appropriate actions.

UTA Policy 5-706 applies to faculty, staff, and students who use live vertebrate animals in research, research training, teaching, testing, or exhibition as part of University-funded activities on and off campus.

Free health checkup July 18; register now

Catapult Health will administer free health checkups to UT Select medical plan members 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, July 18. Free nuclear energy workshop open for high school upperclassmen, recent graduates

Faculty and staff who know a high school junior, senior, or recent grad with an interest in nuclear energy can register them for a free, one-day workshop offered by the College of Engineering. The workshop is 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19. Lunch and a T-shirt are provided. Details and registration are at uta.engineering/nuclear.
