Last candidate for VP for Student Affairs speaks today

Dee Dee Anderson, the third candidate for vice president for Student Affairs, will speak at an open session with the University community at 10:30 a.m. today, Friday, Nov. 17, in Room 100 of the Geoscience Building. A question-and-answer session with faculty, staff, and students will follow. Dr. Anderson is the interim vice chancellor for student development at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

All candidate surveys will open at 8 a.m. Monday, Nov 20, and will close at 11 p.m. Tuesday, Nov 21. Other candidates include Lisa Nagy, interim vice president for Student Affairs at UTA, and Calvin Phillips, associate vice president for Student Affairs at Eastern Michigan University.

IT maintenance extended until 9 a.m. Sunday

The regularly scheduled IT maintenance for Sunday, Nov. 19, has been extended from midnight to 9 a.m. to apply critical updates to our servers, network, and IT infrastructure. Faculty, staff, and students will experience intermittent disruptions that may last up to an hour when accessing UTA resources, the internet, and the campus network. Plan around the IT scheduled maintenance window to avoid any potential work or school interruptions. Expect west campus detours this weekend

UTA Boulevard between Kerby Street and West Nedderman Drive will be closed Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 18-19, for removal of the construction crane at West Campus Garage. Alternate east-west options include Abram Street, Greek Row Drive, and Mitchell Street.


Get your fill with Thanksgiving meals

No reason to be hungry Tuesday, Nov. 21, with two Thanksgiving meals on campus.

Enjoy a traditional holiday lunch 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the University Club in Davis Hall. The meal is $8. See the menu.

Later, head over to the University Center for Thanksgiving dinner with President Karbhari 5-8 p.m. in the Connection Café. Tickets are $8 for faculty, staff, and friends. See the menu and buy tickets.
