Distinguished Alumni Awards 2019

This year’s Distinguished Alumni Award honorees were celebrated Friday at the annual awards dinner. Those recognized are Shahrzad Amirani, Jacob Monty, Michael Ray, and Wendy Okolo, the latter of whom received the Distinguished Recent Graduate Award. Additionally, state Sen. Kelly Hancock, state Rep. Chris Turner, and Arlington Mayor W. Jeff Williams each received the Distinguished Community Service Award. Read about the honorees. See more photos.

Mujer Legendaria winner

Elizabeth Couch, assistant director of media relations, was named one of four North Texas recipients of the Mujer Legendaria de Ford award.

Mujeres Legendarias, or legendary women, is a national program honoring Hispanic women who improve their communities by embodying the four pillars of the Ford brand: quality, safe innovation, smart innovation, and sustainability. Award recipients are leaders in education, business, volunteerism, and art.

UTA CARES grant program

Proposals for the UTA CARES Grant Program are open through Monday, Jan. 20. The program supports educators interested in transitioning to open educational resources.

Watch demonstrations at the 3D Laser Metal Printer Open House 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Room 110 in Woolf Hall. Learn about the printer, its processes, and fabrication costs.
