National ranking for School of Social Work

UTA master’s degree in social work program is among the best in the nation, according to rankings released by Online Schools Report.

The program, which is offered through the School of Social Work, is ranked No. 22 nationally. While graduates can work in the field with a bachelor’s degree, a Master's of Social Work degree is required for licensure to work in most social service agencies and clinical areas.

Harrison named director of McDowell Center

Lonny Harrison is the new director of UTA's Charles T. McDowell Center for Critical Languages and Area Studies. He is an associate professor of Russian.

"Starting the Conversation: Taking Care of Aging Parents" is open to faculty and staff at noon Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Room 100 in Nedderman Hall. Lunch provided. Register to attend.

REAL ID

REAL ID needed for travel

Beginning Oct. 1, all air travelers 18 years of age and older will need a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or another TSA-acceptable form of ID to board an aircraft within the United States. REAL ID-compliant cards are marked with a star at the top.

Mock Courtroom

Pre-Law Center opens mock courtroom

The Adelfa B. Callejo Courtroom was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that revealed the new quarters for the Pre-Law Center. The courtroom is in Trimble Hall. See more photos.

The space will serve as a practice area for mock trial and moot court participants, as well as a classroom and gathering spot for students interested in studying law.
