UTA celebrates its spring graduates online

Faculty and staff are invited to join students, family, friends, and the public at the Cheers! To the Class of 2020 online celebration at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, with a pre-show beginning at 7:20 p.m. The celebration will air live and be available across UTA’s social media networks.

UTA is still planning to provide an in-person commencement with a formal virtual ceremony option when circumstances and health guidelines allow for it.

Erick Jones

Engineering high honors

Erick C. Jones, a George and Elizabeth Pickett Endowed Professor and associate dean for graduate affairs in the College of Engineering, was named a fellow of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers.

Dr. Jones has been at UTA since 2013. He is internationally recognized for his pioneering work with radio-frequency identification technologies, Lean Six Sigma Quality Management, and autonomous inventory control.

New benefits platform debuts Monday

The Office of Employee Benefits Services will launch the new and enhanced My UT Benefits platform. Starting Monday, May 18, benefits-eligible employees will receive an email with login instructions. Some features include:

  • Clear and concise information about your benefits
  • Resources that explain your coverage
  • Faster transmission of your benefits changes
  • Easy access to select your benefits during Annual Enrollment in July
  • Ability to select benefits online for new hires and qualified life events
