Facilities team has updated safety practices to mitigate COVID-19 risks

The Office of Facilities Management is updating its safety practices in operating building ventilation systems to mitigate the risks of COVID-19. UTA is following guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers.

Staff Listening Session

Members of the Fall Academic and Course Planning Task Force held a listening session for staff members on July 2. You need to be signed in with your UTA email address to view the recording. A few notes:

  • If the recording isn’t immediately available, please be patient. The file is large and may take a minute or two to load.
  • If you are not signed in, the video may prompt you to open a new window.
  • You can sign in to Microsoft Stream using your UTA email address and password.

Repopulation training

All faculty and staff are required to complete the COVID-19 Return-to-Campus Training in Canvas before the start date of the repopulation phase that includes their department.

For essential employees already working on campus, please complete the training no later than Friday, July 10.

Hearing officers needed

The Office of Community Standards seeks recommendations for hearing officers for student conduct and academic integrity cases. Supervisor approval is required prior to submitting a recommendation.

Training is 1-4 p.m. Thursday, July 30, and 9 a.m.-noon Friday, July 31, via Microsoft Teams.

Early voting at MAC

Early voting for the July 14 Texas primary runoff election is today, Monday-Friday, July 6-10, at the Maverick Activities Center. See times/days. Voters must wear masks inside the building and maintain social distancing.

Maverick Orientation and Transition Programs is holding its annual Spanish Speaking Parent Orientation on Saturday, July 11.

Staff Conference coming

Register for the Staff Conference Tuesday-Thursday, July 14-16, via Teams. One-hour virtual sessions are offered at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day. All employees are welcome to attend.
