Alumna donates to CMAS, CAAS

Alumna Pat Brandenburg’s (’49 AS, Business Administration) gift will support UTA’s Center for Mexican American Studies (CMAS) and Center for African American Studies (CAAS), bringing her cumulative giving for the programs to more than $1 million.

Flu shots will be available for faculty and staff 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, upstairs at the Maverick Activities Center, and 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Oct. 7, in Room 200 of the Wetsel Service Center.

The vaccine is free with PPO insurance plans Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Aetna, Cigna, Humana, United Health Care, and Medicare Part B.

Not accepted are Aetna's and BCBS Bronze's Silver and Gold plans, Cigna Local Plus plans, and HMO plans. The cost without insurance is $20, payable by cash or check.

Provide a photocopy of your insurance card and driver’s license to receive your flu vaccine at no charge.

Early voting

The Maverick Activities Center will serve as an early voting polling place for the Nov. 3 elections. The poll will be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13-Friday, Oct. 30.
