New UT System EVC visits campus

University of Texas System Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Archie Holmes Jr. visited UTA Tuesday, his first trip to campus since assuming his new role earlier this month.

Dr. Holmes, second from left, works with the eight UT System academic institutions to help ensure the advancement and implementation of their missions and programs. He describes his role as “supporting the institutions and helping them become the best version of themselves.”

UTA PD recognized for crime victim services

The International Association of Chiefs of Police has honored the UT Arlington Police Department with the Leadership in Victim Services Award for its creation of a Crime Victim Services Unit.

The Crime Victim Services (CVS) Unit was created in March 2018 to enhance the safety and security of the campus community. UTA’s CVS program has a unique setup, allowing it to serve a wide array of clients, including victims with an open police report and those without.

Faculty Senate Open Forum

The Faculty Senate will hold an open faculty forum noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, to follow-up on ideas raised in the State of the University address held at noon today, Wedneday, Oct. 28.

Healthy in-person voting

Erin Carlson, director of graduate public health programs, offers precautions to keep safe while voting in person. In-person early voting ends on Friday, Oct. 30, and Election Day is set for Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Early voting at MAC

The Maverick Activities Center serves as an early voting polling place for the Nov. 3 elections. The poll is open through Friday, Oct. 30. See the schedule.
