Sign up for Monday's flu shot clinic

Make an appointment to get your flu shot noon-2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at the Wetsel Service Center. The vaccine is free with UT Select and UT Connect membership. With no insurance, the shot is $20.

Tare named transformational leader

Meghna Tare, UTA’s chief sustainability officer, received the transformational leader honor at the 2020 Women in Sustainability Awards, given by the nonprofit Envision Charlotte.

Shanna Banda

Math educator wins president’s award

Shanna Banda, assistant chair and associate professor of instruction of mathematics, was named a recipient of the 2020 UTA President’s Award for Transformative Online Education. She oversees the Math Lab and Math Clinic, which provide tutoring services to students.

Highest honors status

UTA's Beta Gamma Sigma chapter, a business honor society, has been designated with highest honors status for the 2019-20 academic year by the global organization.

'Shorthorn' wins national awards

The Shorthorn, UTA's student-run newspaper, won the top prize in collegiate journalism from two different student media associations during a national college journalism virtual convention.

Food Pantry needs

The UTA/Tri-C Food Pantry needs items such as rice, canned chicken, cereal bars, shelf stable milk, and milk alternatives (oat milk, almond milk, rice milk, etc.). To donate, call 817-933-6520.

Electrical outage planned for Woolf Hall

The Office of Facilities Management has scheduled an electrical outage for Woolf Hall from 10:30 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 6, to no later than 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7. Available emergency back-up generators in these buildings will be maintained throughout this outage to power crucial services.

Save any work or data in progress before 10:30 p.m. Friday to prevent possible data loss.
