Kate Hyun, assistant professor of civil engineering, will use a U.S. Department of Transportation grant to incorporate environmental justice as an additional factor to determine where resources get dispersed during a natural disaster.

Helping cancer patients

Alyssa Tijerina, nursing and psychology junior, has a passion for helping cancer patients and for mental health, which has put her on a path to becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner and helped her land a unique internship at the Texas Center for Proton Therapy.

Fireworks at Davis Hall

Fireworks Monday

A video shoot will include fireworks during filming 5:30-9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at the big UTA flowerbed at Cooper Street and South Nedderman Drive. Vehicles in parking lot F9 at Davis Hall will need to leave by 5:30 p.m. and park in other permitted lots. Nedderman Drive will be closed between Greek Row and Cooper during this time period.

Library material delivery

As of Monday, Nov. 16, faculty-requested library materials can be picked up at the Central Library or shipped to faculty members’ residences. On-campus delivery will be suspended until the spring semester.

Come to the Handshake Supervisor Training for an overview on how to login, post a job, and review your applicants. Register for the session, which is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, on Teams.
