Important Winter Weather Update Announcement - UTA Closed thru Feb. 17, 2021 & All Classes Cancelled

Due to extreme winter weather conditions and widespread power outages, The University of Texas at Arlington is closed, effective immediately, through Wednesday, February 17, 2021.

All classes in all modalities are canceled, also effective immediately, through Feb. 17. Exams also are canceled.

Essential personnel should continue to report to work. Employee remote work is suspended through Feb. 17. Employees should contact their supervisors with specific questions about their duties.

The University Center and the Commons will be open normal hours. Limited dining services remain available at both locations.

Please note that the current power outage affecting the UTA campus is not part of the rolling blackouts, but is an unrelated outage that Oncor is working to fix. There is no estimated restoration time.

Personnel from UTA’s Office of Facilities Management will remain on campus to monitor building generators. The campus could still be subject to rolling blackouts throughout the remainder of this weather event. Employees who are concerned about the cold affecting their labs or work space should contact their supervisors with questions.

UTA officials are continuing to assess the impact of the storm on campus operations. An announcement regarding the campus’ status for the remainder of the week will be announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Students and employees should continue to monitor www.uta.edu, UTA Facebook and Twitter, and Mavwire and TrailBlazer University emails for additional information and reference the Campus Closure Guidelines.
