University monitoring winter weather

The National Weather Service is predicting the possibility of snowfall and record-breaking cold temperatures for the next several days, with potential impacts to travel.

UTA is closely monitoring the forecast and will notify all students, faculty, and staff should weather or travel conditions affect the status of the University.

The University makes announcements about weather-related closures or delays via email and on the UTA home page, Facebook, and Twitter pages.

In the absence of an announcement through those channels, students, faculty, and staff should understand that the University is operating as normally scheduled.

Hear candidates for vice president for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Despite predicted weather-related uncertainties over the next several days, the virtual presentations from the finalists for vice president for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will continue as scheduled.

During these sessions, hosted through Microsoft Teams Live, all UTA faculty, staff, and students are invited to hear each finalist’s perspective on “Pursuing Inclusive Excellence: A Vision for UTA’s Inaugural Office of DEI.”

The remaining presentations are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on:

Additional announcements will be posted on the VP for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion webpage should there be any change to this schedule.

Information on the first candidate has been posted on the VP for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion webpage. Information on the remaining candidates will be posted here at least 24 hours in advance of their presentations.

Make sure heaters are:

  • Placed at least three feet away from all combustible materials such as paper,
  • Positioned outside of walkways or exit paths,
  • Not located underneath desks or in other enclose areas, and
  • Plugged directly into a wall receptacle; never use extension cords or power strips.

For details, see UTA’s space heater policy.
