UTA extends closing through Sunday

Due to the impact of the recent extreme winter weather this week, UT Arlington remains closed through Sunday, Feb. 21. The closure affects the UTA Research Institute in Fort Worth, the UTA Fort Worth Center, and all other UTA locations. All classes in all modalities are canceled through Sunday.

The UTA campus and all other UTA locations will open and resume normal operations on Monday, Feb. 22.

  • All class modalities are scheduled to resume Monday.
  • On-campus and remote work for employees will resume Monday. Employees should contact their supervisors with specific questions about their duties or their individual circumstances.

UTA officials are continuing to assess the impact of the storm on campus operations. Continue to monitor uta.edu, UTA Facebook and Twitter, and MavWire and TrailBlazer enewsletters for additional information.

Buildings on campus

Beginning Saturday, Feb. 20, University Center, The Commons, Central Library, and Maverick Activities Center (MAC) are scheduled to resume normal operating hours. Please check building websites for the most updated information on operating hours and openings of these facilities.

Continue to exercise caution as some sidewalks, parking lots and garages, and roads may have remaining ice or snow, contributing to slippery conditions.

As interior and outside temperatures increase and water is restored to campus buildings, there is an increased risk of pipe ruptures and leaks. Report damage and make trouble calls to UTA Facilities Management at 817-272-2000 or uta.edu/fixit.

The Commons is open but the Starbucks there is closed.

Locate an Arlington warming center. Many churches also are open as warming stations.

Boil water notice

The city now says water pressure has been restored, but the boil notice remains in effect. Read more details.

Bottled drinking water will be available for pickup from the University Center (UC) Information Desk, which is open 24 hours. There is a limit of two bottles per person.

Campus parking and transportation

Resident permit holders can park in any faculty-staff or student space on campus until 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22.

Today, Friday, Feb. 19, UTA will run two buses 8 a.m.-11 p.m. on the Red Route. That route travels to residence halls, apartments, the Maverick Activities Center, and the UC. Check the DoubleMap app for more details.
