Improve how your mask protects you

Correct and consistent mask use is a critical step everyone can take to prevent contracting and spreading COVID-19. Masks work best when everyone wears them, but not all masks provide the same protection.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advise that when choosing a mask, look at how well it fits, how well it filters the air, and how many layers it has.

Storm-related timekeeping

The Office of Human Resources advises timekeepers to use properly code time sheets for inclement weather. For details, go to the timekeeping section of the Inclement Weather and Campus Emergency (CO-CS-PR13).

Answers to the frequently asked questions are:

  • Student workers paid hourly should be paid for actual hours worked. They should discuss make-up hours with their supervisors.
  • Hours worked during the week should be entered into the timesheet. Hours not worked should be entered as “Other Absence Paid” for inclement weather leave.
  • For essential employees who worked the entire week, process timesheets as normal including overtime hours. Overtime is accrued after 40 hours is worked that week.

Avoid fraud schemes

As residents are trying to mop up and make repairs after the winter storm, con artists are taking advantage of storm victims. Watch the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office video about avoiding fraud.
