Policy updates

RA-PR-03 Faculty Research Supplemental Award Procedure—The procedure provides a mechanism for faculty with significant sponsored research activities to help cover their summer salary and a portion their academic nine-month salary on sponsored funding. For faculty who off-load their academic nine-month appointment, it creates an opportunity for the department and college to realize budgetary savings for student support, instruction cost coverage, or other strategic needs. This procedure facilitates the opportunity for UTA to realize salary savings from sponsored funding and to recognize faculty that generate them.

CO-CS-PO-07 Unmanned Aircraft Systems Policy and CO-CS-PR-08 Use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems Application & Approval Procedure—The new policy and procedure provides guidance for anyone who seeks to operate an unmanned aircraft system (drone) for any purpose on UTA-owned or -controlled property, or by a UTA employee acting in the course and scope of employment on non-University property. This includes whether the purpose of operation is for recreation, hobby, education, research, commerce, or any other reason including but not limited to those related to filming, video, or photography.
