Maverick Spirit Celebration

Enjoy a month of fun as UT Arlington kicks off spring with the Maverick Spirit Celebration, a different take on Homecoming because of COVID-19.

Watch the Homecoming court video with the crowning of the king and queen.

Hit the pavement or treadmill for Keep Your Distance Virtual 5K. Run, jog, walk, or stroll up to 5k (3.1 miles) by Sunday, March 7, and submit your time to receive a snazzy event T-shirt.

Show your Maverick pride with Paint Your Ride on Monday, March 8.

Say "Blaze" at the rotating UTA Spirit photo displays throughout the semester. Take your own photo or use the HALO photo booth and share on social media starting March 8-12.

Standardized test options

UTA will continue to incorporate “test score optional” admission and scholarship provisions for students applying to the University through summer 2023.

Transportation textbooks

A postbaccalaureate certificate in transportation planning and policy will include open textbooks created by a UTA multidisciplinary team. The program will be offered by the College of Architecture, Planning, and Public Affairs.

PAD relief system

Kytai Nguyen, a professor of bioengineering, is designing a nanoparticle delivery system that will take needed plasmids to arteries in patients who are suffering from peripheral artery disease (PAD).

DeBerry NCAA bound

Maverick high jumper Bryson DeBerry has qualified for the 2021 NCAA Division I Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships next week.

Heart-friendly pups

Food Pantry needs

The UTA/Tri-C Food Pantry needs are cereal, pasta sauce, canned vegetables (green beans, tomatoes, carrots, etc.), canned fruit, toilet paper, crackers, and dry beans. To donate, call 817-296-1509 or email tricatuta@gmail.com.

SEIR building outage Sunday

A planned electrical outage for the SEIR building will be 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, March 7.

The building’s emergency generator will be operational for fire and life safety equipment, limited building lighting, elevators, and any research equipment currently connected to the emergency generator.

Please safe work/data before the outage.

Turn off electronic equiment including computers, scanners, and copiers. They do not need to be unplugged.
