Distinguished Alumni Awards nominations

Honor a Maverick grad who has made an impact with a nomination for the Distinguished Alumni Award and Recent Graduate Award. Submissions are due Friday, April 30.

Tell us who you think has earned their place in Maverick alumni history by enthusiastically supporting UTA or by making a substantial impact on their field. Winners will be announced this fall.

Sign up for a reminder to watch the free Virtual Maverick Speakers Series at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 25. The talk will be livestreamed at uta.edu/maverickspeakers and is free to watch.

Vivek Wadhwa, technology entrepreneur and bestselling author, will speak on “Navigating Technological Change at Light Speed." His latest book, Your Happiness Was Hacked: Why Tech is Winning the Battle to Control Your Brain—and How to Fight Back, was published in 2018.

Required reporting of outside activities

All full-time faculty and staff are required to electronically request and receive prior approval for outside activities on an annual basis.

Gonzalez on Great 100 Nurses

John D. Gonzalez, chair of graduate nursing programs in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, received the DFW Great 100 Nurses distinction.

Xu receives NSF career award

Sen Xu, assistant professor of biology, received a Faculty Early Career Development Award, a prestigious award from the National Science Foundation aimed at early-career faculty.

Ron Lucey, executive director of the Governor's Committee on People with Disabilities, speaks on his experiences with accessibility and design at noon Friday, March 26, on Teams.

Ins and Outs of Work-Study

Do you want to hire work-study students, but are confused on how the process works and what is all entailed? Learn about the Ins and Outs of Work-Study in this faculty/staff workshop.

Engaging with Students

Faculty will share online teaching practices, digital tools, activities, and strategies they learned in the program Learning Labs: Preparing Faculty for Hybrid and Online Teaching. The virtual event is 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24.
