Commencement volunteers needed

UTA is preparing to host nine commencement ceremonies celebrating 2020 and spring 2021 graduates Thursday-Sunday, May 13-16, at Globe Life Field in Arlington and will need help to ensure a safe, memorable experience.

UTA faculty and staff willing to volunteer their time to assist with the ceremonies should complete the UTA Commencement Volunteer Form by Wednesday, April 21. If possible, please volunteer for at least two shifts.

Meals, shirts, and UTA-branded masks will be provided to all volunteers. Specific assignments will be shared the week of Commencement.

Battery safety

David Wetz, professor of eletrical engineering, is part of a team working to design a battery that is intrinsically safe because it cannot cause sparking, a danger in mines filled with hazardous, explosive gases.

Accessing Success

UTA’s Student Access & Resource Center upholds a longstanding commitment to a barrier-free campus for all students and does far more than accommodate for students with physical and unseen disabilities.

Complete survey today

Complete the UTA Campus Climate Survey on diversity and inclusion by today, Friday, April 9. The survey takes about 20 minutes. Skip any question you do not feel comfortable answering. Your response is confidential.

Arlington COVID-19 vaccination operations

Arlington’s community vaccination center will extend its operations through Tuesday, May 18.

Vaccination operations, which were previously held inside Globe Life Field and then Esports Stadium Arlington, will transition to inside AT&T Stadium starting Sunday, April 11. The center is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. An appointment is required.

UTA students and employees are strongly encouraged to participate in COVID-19 vaccinations when eligible. UTA’s COVID-19 Vaccination Information and Resources page can assist with monitoring vaccine eligibility and availability.
