Updated summer campus operation plan available

UTA's COVID‑19 Summer 2021 Campus Operation Plan has been updated in response to new guidance on the use of face coverings by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the state of Texas.

The plan informs a phased return to on-campus work for employees and outlines the health and safety measures every Maverick is encouraged to take, including regular COVID‑19 testing and the highly recommended wearing of masks.

Interested employees can obtain a COVID‑19 vaccine on campus or locally through UTA's partnerships.

New schedule for campus deliveries, pickups

Beginning July 1, Property Management will move to a new schedule for all mail deliveries, outgoing mail pickups, and work order requests.

Flexible summer hours

The popular flexible summer hours program returns Monday, June 7–Friday Aug. 13. Participating employees work a compressed week of four 10-hour days with one day off during the work week.

American Astronautical Society fellow

Kamesh Subbarao, a professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department, is UTA's first faculty member to earn the honor of fellow of the American Astronautical Society.

President's Forum recording available

The Staff Advisory Council on May 25 hosted the President's Forum with guests Teik C. Lim, interim president; Jewel Washington, chief human resources officer; and Bryan Samuel, vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion.

Outstanding Maverick Awards

The deadline to nominate employees and teams for the Outstanding Maverick Awards has been extended to Friday, June 25.

Food Pantry needs

The UTA/Tri-C Food Pantry needs paper towels, canned tomatoes, and chips. Drop off donations 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday at 405 W 1st St. For more details, email tri.c.cyndi@gmail.com.

Active parking permit needed before returning to campus

As the phased return to campus outlined in the UTA COVID‑19 Summer 2021 Campus Operation Plan takes effect, employees should check the status of their parking permits.

Employees who canceled their parking permits or no longer have active parking permits should purchase a new, prorated permit. Hourly, daily, and monthly permit durations are available. All long-term permits expire on August 20.

Fall 2021 permits will go on sale no later than August 1.

Nedderman Drive restricted access, closure

The portion of Nedderman Drive between the Science & Engineering Innovation & Research (SEIR) building and the Life Science Building is undergoing construction and will have restricted access from June 10-13 as follows:

  • June 10-11: Access will be reduced to one lane between Planetarium Place and the reserved parking spaces next to Life Science. Deliveries to SEIR and Life Science may continue, but maneuverability for large trucks will be reduced.
  • June 12-13: Entire street will be barricaded from Planetarium Place westward. No access permitted for deliveries or reserved parking spaces.

The ADA spaces adjacent to the SEIR loading dock will be blocked for the entire duration of the dates listed above.
