Climate change monitor

Michelle Hummel, assistant professor of civil engineering, is working with a Texas coastal town to develop a low-cost sensor network that will help the community monitor climate change effects.

The in-person ceremonies for UTA’s Service Awards and Outstanding Maverick Awards, scheduled for Sept. 24 and Oct. 4, respectively, have been canceled. Recognition packages for faculty and staff will be distributed to individual departments.

Acceptable items for e-waste recycling/

Electronic waste recycle bins on campus

UTA has a new electronic waste program with 14 bins around campus for employees to discard their e-waste.

Smaller bins for individual offices and departments can be picked up at the Office of Sustainability; call first to 817‑272‑0199.

UTA Windows devices need an appointment

If your UTA-owned Windows device has not yet gone through the Windows Endpoint Management Project, appointments are open and available with the Office of Information Technology. To prepare your device, schedule an appointment, and find other project details, visit the project website. If you have questions or feedback, please contact endpointproject@uta.edu.

Tri-C Food Pantry

The Tri-C Food Pantry needs cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, ramen, peanut butter, dry beans, deodorant, shampoo, body wash, shelf-stable milk, and paper towels. Drop off donations 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday at 405 W. 1st St. For more details, email tri.c.cyndi@gmail.com.
