COVID-19 vaccine clinics scheduled

UTA has four COVID‑19 vaccine clinics planned, including two to serve ages 5-11. These free walk-in-only clinics will be in the Maverick Activities Center.

The clinics for ages 12 and older are in the Group Exercise Room 101B.

  • Wednesday, Nov. 17, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 1, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

The clinics for ages 5 years and older are in room 100B.

  • Saturday, Nov. 20, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 11, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Maverick Advantage

Learn how to add a service-learning component into your course as part of the Maverick Advantage Faculty Engagement Program. Register for the event, set for noon Wednesday, Nov. 17. A light lunch will be served.

Service-learning gathering

Service-Learning Faculty: The Gathering is a breakfast and networking event with service learning faculty and staff across campus. Register for the gathering, which is 8:30-10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, in Trinity Hall.

Military, veteran services

Come to the UTA Military and Veteran Services Showcase and learn about programs and services for veterans and their families 2-4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, in the Palo Duro Lounge of the University Center.

Blood drive this week

Carter Blood Care will hold a blood drive 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. through Thursday, Nov. 18, in front of Woolf Hall and on the Library Mall. Donors will receive a free T-shirt for giving blood while supplies last.

Peer educators needed

The Academic Success Center is looking for motivated students to become peer educators for spring 2022. Encourage students to check out the postings.

Learn about the personal stories and college experiences of several UTA first-generation students at First-Generation Panel: #IAmFirst: First-Generation Student Voices 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, in the Lonestar Theater of the Maverick Activities Center.

A first-generation social follows at 5-6 p.m. on the second floor lounge of the MAC.

American Recycles Day. Electronic Waste Recycling and Trivia.

E-waste recycling event

Bring your old computers, accessories, and more to the Electronic Waste Recycling Event for America Recycles Day 1:30-4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, on the UC mall near Woolf Hall.

E-waste includes printer cartridges, batteries, and anything that runs on electricity. See what can be recycled.

This event is to recycle personal items. No UTA assets will be accepted.

Stop by the trivia table for a chance to win some sustainable prizes.

UTA Fall Jazz Concert

Enjoy an evening of outstanding music at the UTA Fall Jazz Concert 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, at Texas Hall. Tickets are $10 general admission and $7 for students and seniors.

Panther City Lacrosse

Join your fellow Mavericks at UTA Night with Panther City Lacrosse as they take on the Vancouver Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. Tickets start at $15.

Tri-C Food Pantry

The Tri-C Food Pantry is very low on rice, pasta, spaghetti sauce, dry beans, toilet paper, and sanitary napkins. Drop off donations 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday at 405 W. 1st St. For more details, email tri.c.cyndi@gmail.com.
