Required COVID-19 testing deadline Friday

The deadline for the COVID‑19 testing requirement has been extended to Friday, Feb. 11. Additional details are available on the COVID‑19 Testing Policy and Resources webpage.

Regardless of vaccination status, all students and employees coming to campus in any capacity for the spring semester must provide proof of a viral COVID‑19 test. On-campus tests are automatically reported to UTA. Off-campus test results must be uploaded to the COVID Self-Report portal in MyMav. Contact covidtesting@uta.edu with questions.

Numerous resources for free COVID‑19 testing are widely available.

A temporary drive-thru COVID‑19 test site near Choctaw Stadium is open 9 a.m.-7 p.m. daily through Tuesday, Feb. 8.

Two free on-campus testing sites are offered. Testing for symptom-free individuals is in the Carlisle Suite of the University Center. Individuals with symptoms can be tested at the Curative site at 435 Spaniolo Drive. Appointments are required.

Anti-cancer agent

Sherri McFarland, professor of chemistry and biochemistry, helped lead a multi-institutional research team that discovered a potent anti-cancer agent that works exceptionally well amid low-oxygen concentrations.

Bikeshare rolls on campus

UTA has launched a new bikeshare program, featuring 250 e-bikes. The bikes are available for rent using the Razor Micromobility app available in the iTunes or Google Play app stores.

SAR Center Open House

The Student Access and Resource Center will host an Open House 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, to show off its newly renovated spaces.

Volunteers needed

The Lockheed Martin Career Development Center is seeking volunteers for the All Majors Job & Internship Fair on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the Maverick Activities Center. Sign up by Monday, Feb. 21, for a volunteer shift and receive a free T-shirt.

Thursday parking notice

Add extra time to find parking on the east side of campus the morning of Thursday, Feb. 10. About 100 school buses will bring 5,000 students to the women's basketball game at College Park Center.
